Welcome to the Migrant Health Passport - an initiative inspired by GAT’s Kit Migrante Project. The Portuguese healthcare system ensures access to health services for all, regardless of nationality or residency status.

National Health Service (SNS):

The SNS provides both general and specialized care, including:

  • Family Health Units (USF) for registered users.

  • Personalized Healthcare Units (UCSP) for unregistered users.

  • Emergency services at hospitals and through Health Line 24: 808 24 24 24.

Family Planning & Maternal Health:

Migrants are entitled to free family planning consultations and maternal health services, including:

  • Access to contraceptives (pills, IUDs, emergency contraception).

  • Free pregnancy care, including 3 dental checks and childbirth support.

Visit a health center in your area or contact the Health Line 24.

Vaccinations:

Portugal’s National Vaccination Program is free for all, regardless of residency status. Key vaccinations include:

  • Hepatitis B, Polio, Meningitis, Measles, and more.

Where to get vaccinated:

Go to your local health center. If you lack vaccination records, they will guide you.

Mental Health Support:

Good mental health is vital. You can access:

  • Psychological counseling at health centers.

  • Youth-focused services for ages 12–25.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs):

Protect your health with free testing and treatment services. Access:

  • Community-based screening.

  • HIV Counseling and Early Detection Centers.
